An esports industry padel and coffee networking event will take place in Riyadh on the evening of 22 August, coinciding with the Esports World Cup (EWC) and ahead of the New Global Sport Conference (NGSC) that weekend.

The event is co-hosted by TER Events (The Esports Radar) along with Saudi gaming hub and esports studio NES, and supported by esports infrastructure company UNEVN. It follows a similar padel tournament initiative held at the Global Esports Industry Week (GEIW) in Austin, Texas, earlier this year during the BLAST Counter-Strike Major.

The Riyadh edition will include a demonstration of UNEVN’s flagship portable BASE desk. The gathering will be held at the Riyadh Boulevard City, the same venue hosting the EWC.

The event will feature a mix of competitive and social play. According to a post on LinkedIn by Sam CookeCo-Founder of GSE Group – the holding company behind The Esports Radar – confirmed participants include Emanuele Acerbis (NOVO Esports), Jonathan Berg (Alliance), Ali Habib (UNICEF) and Dany Houl (Echo Esports).

Cooke emphasised in his post that the competition is only part of the event, and industry members are welcome to attend simply to watch, socialise and network. “This will be a fun and laid-back industry social on the Friday evening,” he wrote. Registration for both attendees and players is available via Typeform.
