Carry1st has announced a partnership with Mentos, naming the mint and gum brand the official chewing gum sponsor of the 2025 Carry1st Africa Cup Grand Finals, the continent’s largest Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) tournament.

The event, taking place on 30–31 August at the Podium International Event Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, will serve as Africa’s official qualifier for the CODM World Championship 2025. Eight teams from across the continent will compete for a share of a $15,000 prize pool and the chance to represent Africa for the first time at the global championship, which carries a $1 million prize pool.

“The Carry1st Africa Cup is a celebration of talent, energy, and community,” said Dominion Eromosele, Lead Growth Manager at Carry1st. “With Mentos as our refreshment partner, fans will enjoy moments of fun and connection alongside the thrilling esports action.”

As part of the activation, Mentos will host a dedicated fan zone at the finals, offering gaming setups, challenges, interactive activities, and product sampling. “We’re thrilled to bring a fresh burst of energy to Africa’s biggest mobile gaming event with this partnership as the official Chewing Gum,” said Shankar Iyer, Marketing Director for Perfetti Van Melle Nigeria Ltd., the producer of Mentos in the country. “Gaming is about connection, excitement, and shared fresh experiences—values that align perfectly with the Mentos brand.”

Carry1st, founded in 2018, is a leading mobile games publisher in Africa. The company is backed by investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Sony, BITKRAFT, Google, and Riot Games. Mentos has a record in esports by partnering with the Esports World Cup in 2024 and with Brazilian organisation LOUD since 2023.
