Berlin International Gaming (BIG) has partnered with GreenMedical, a subsidiary of healthcare company CKM Group, to raise awareness of medical cannabis and digital healthcare. The collaboration, focused on BIG’s Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) team, aims to educate players and fans while engaging the community through activations such as giveaways, branding, and content campaigns.

Christoph Neumeier, Founder of GreenMedical, said: “With BIG, we have gained a partner that stands for performance, community, and modern health culture—sharing our values. We are closing a knowledge gap: medical cannabis is not a lifestyle product, but an effective medicine that has been underutilized.

“Our approach offers the lowest-threshold and safest access—fully digitally supported and medically supervised. This creates a legal and high-quality alternative to risky self-treatment with black-market cannabis.”

BIG CEO Daniel Finkler added: “As one of Germany’s leading esports organisations, we bring socially relevant topics to our community. With GreenMedical, we have found a partner that stands for modern, digital healthcare solutions and supports education about medical cannabis. Together, as pioneers in German esports and gaming, we are sending a clear signal for complementary, responsible therapies.”

The deal is notable as the first of its kind in German esports. Globally, Veriheal, a healthcare technology company, partnered with OpTic Gaming in 2024 with a similar goal of promoting medical cannabis and reducing stigma.

The German medical cannabis market has grown rapidly since partial legalisation in 2024, with revenues rising from around €185 million in 2021 to over €450 million in 2024. The partnership also comes as BIG recently renewed sponsorships with Philips OneBlade and Acer Predator, reflecting continued commercial momentum.
