Fusion Esports Group has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Julian Miculcy as Vice President Esports, tasked with overseeing the organisation’s Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) operations and the Astralis brand.
Miculcy brings six years of experience from GamerLegion, where he worked across team management, project development, and competitive events.
He highlighted the alignment between his vision and Fusion’s strategic direction: “It has been about the current challenges the industry is facing, how to create the right environment for players, and how to balance tradition with new ideas. What impressed me most was the clarity of the vision and the passion behind it. It connected strongly with my own experiences and values, and it made me feel: this is the right journey for me.”

He also acknowledged the backing of Fusion leadership: “A big thank you to Jonas Gundersen and Jakob Lund Kristensen for the trust and support. I’m looking forward to giving my all for this project and to help shape the next chapter of Astralis together with the team.”
Fusion acquired Astralis after a difficult time for the team. As reported in its 2024 financial statement, the organisation recorded losses of over DKK 31 million (~$4.8m), citing the end of Counter-Strike franchise leagues and underperformance—an issue now for Miculcy to tackle directly—as key factors.
