The 2025 League of Legends Asia Invitational (ASI) has been officially announced and will take place from 6 to 12 October. The tournament will be jointly organised by Huya Live, Douyu, and Bilibili, three of China’s leading streaming platforms.
Eight teams from the LPL, LCK, and LCP regions are expected to compete. According to Huya Live via their official Weibo account, three teams from the LPL (fifth to seventh seeds), three from the LCK (fifth to seventh seeds), and two from the LCP (fourth and fifth seeds) will participate, with the final line-up subject to confirmation.
The tournament format will begin with a group stage from 6 to 9 October, played as a best-of-three single round robin. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, which will run from 10 to 12 October in a double-elimination format. The grand final will be decided in a best-of-five series.
The competition offers a total prize pool of ¥1.5 million ($206,000). The champion will receive ¥600,000 ($82,000), the runner-up ¥400,000 ($55,000), third place ¥200,000 ($27,000), and fourth place ¥150,000 ($21,000). Teams finishing fifth to eighth will each earn ¥37,500 ($5,100).
ASI 2025 is designed as a short, Asia-focused invitational featuring mid-to-lower seeds from the participating leagues, running over one week. This contrasts with the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds), which spans multiple weeks from late September to mid-November and features 24 teams from across the globe, including top seeds from the LPL, LCK, LEC (Europe), LTA (North America), and other regional leagues.
All matches for ASI 2025 will be broadcast live on Huya, Douyu, and Bilibili. Huya and Douyu are prominent live-streaming services specialising in gaming content, while Bilibili is a popular video-sharing platform with a strong focus on animation, games, and esports.
