The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has launched a Certified Talent Agents Programme for the esports, gaming, and entertainment industries. Developed with over 15 global agencies, the programme will accredit individuals and organisations representing talent, establishing a framework for professional conduct and transparency.

The accreditation process involves a benchmark evaluation that includes financial due diligence, criminal history checks, and a review of prior complaints. Accredited agents must adhere to a Code of Conduct and carry appropriate indemnity insurance.

Two agencies, SEG and Prodigy Agency, have joined as foundation members of the programme. A total of 13 agents from these two agencies have been accredited under the scheme.

In a press release, Stephen Hanna, CEO of ESIC, commented: “The Certified Talent Agents Programme represents a significant step forward for the esports industry. By providing a clear, credible accreditation pathway for talent agents, we are addressing an area that has been largely unregulated and often problematic for players.”

Rowan Stroo, Division Director Esports at SEG, stated: “We are thrilled to be a foundational member of ESIC’s Certified Talent Agents Programme, as there is still little to no regulation in the esports and gaming ecosystems on many topics, including talent representation.”

Jérôme Coupez, Founder and CEO of Prodigy Agency, said: “The lack of regulation in our industry has long created risks for players. That is why we are proud to be a founding member of ESIC’s Certified Talent Agents Programme.”

The ESIC Certified Talent Agents Programme is now open for applications from other agents and agencies.
