Scholastic esports in Oklahoma is getting a major boost as PlayVS, Oklahoma Scholastic Esports (OKSE), and the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) have created a three-way partnership to support and manage esports programs in schools across the state.

Under this agreement, PlayVS will be the official online platform used for competitions in OSSAA-sanctioned and OKSE-supported esports events. Schools will use PlayVS for match play, schedules, and rankings.

Oklahoma Scholastic Esports will provide guidance and support for schools. This includes helping with program development, working with the esports community, and assisting coaches and students.

On the other hand, the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association will act as the statewide governing body. It will oversee rules, sanction esports titles, and give official recognition to school esports events, similar to other student activities.

This partnership marks an important step in ensuring students across Oklahoma have access to education-focused esports opportunities,” said Mike Shipley, OKSE Executive President, “our goal is to create the strongest possible scholastic esports ecosystem for Oklahoma students. We look forward to the positive impact this partnership will have across the state.”

To kick off the partnership, the organizations will launch a joint Rocket League competition in Spring 2026. The company said that more details about team registration and participation are expected to be shared in the coming months.

Apart from this three-way partnership, PlayVS recently announced a partnership with Palmer Hamilton Esports and its sister company, RESPAWN, to bring furniture and design solutions to school gaming spaces. On top of that, ASUS Republic of Gamers is teaming up with PlayVS to deliver high-performance hardware for the upcoming 2025–26 PlayVS College League.
