Man City Esports has officially announced the launch of its first professional Rocket League team, which will make its official debut this weekend in the Rocket League Championship Series 2026 Kick Off Weekend.

This move continues the club’s expansion in esports. Man City already competes in Fortnite and also launched a co-branded FC Online team with Gen.G in 2025. With Rocket League now added, it becomes the club’s third major esports title.

Manchester City has also invested in esports academies, launched gaming-themed apparel with PUMA, and built partnerships with organisations like Gen.G to help develop the scene.

It’s no secret that esports is becoming a bigger part of the football world, and Rocket League is one of the clearest examples. The game, developed by Psyonix, a subsidiary of Epic Games, became part of FIFAe in 2024.

Many big football clubs, including PSG, Barcelona, Wolves, AS Monaco, RCD Espanyol and Corinthians, have competed in Rocket League. While some teams reduced their esports activity due to budget cuts, Manchester City’s entry shows the growing interest from clubs once again.

For the Rocket League squad, Man City Esports has signed the roster known as “2 Danes 1 Bruv”, made up of AstonAccroSmith from the UK, and Danish players WilliamejbyLorentzen and ChristianTempoHMortensen. Their coach is Noahn0ahHinder, a former pro player who previously coached teams such as Moist Esports and Lyost Esports.
