A revised global calendar and modified qualification system will define the Rainbow Six Esports competitive season starting in 2026. The changes, detailed in an announcement on 16th December 2025, will affect all tiers of the competition. The stated objectives are to improve competitive clarity and expand opportunities for teams across different levels.

The restructure aims to create a more connected competitive pathway. A key adjustment is the formal integration of the Esports World Cup (EWC) into the official circuit as a mid-season competition in August. The winning team of this event will receive direct qualification for the Six Invitational in 2027. According to the announcement, the changes aim to create “a competitive structure that feels fair, exciting, and rewarding for players and fans alike.”

The 2026 calendar outlines a sequence of events beginning with the Challenger Series in February-March. A new Season Kickoff event in April will award SI Points and qualification for the first Major. Two Majors are scheduled for May and November. Regional stages will run in June-July and September-October, with all placements earning SI Points. Regional League Finals will not be held in 2026, making consistent performance across stages the primary method for qualifying for the Six Invitational.

The changes indicate a shift towards a points-based qualification system centred on sustained performance within a more standardised annual schedule. Further details regarding the 2026 season are expected to be announced at the upcoming Six Invitational, which will be held at the Adidas Arena in Paris from 2nd to 15th February in partnership with tournament operator BLAST.
