François-Xavier Deniele has been appointed VP, Marketing & Esports – Rainbow Six at Ubisoft, a role he assumed in January 2026. The move places him in charge of the esports and product strategy for Rainbow Six Siege as the publisher implements a revised global format for the season.
Deniele’s career at Ubisoft spans over 15 years. He was previously VP, Global Esports & Competitive Gaming from February 2022, a role in which he stated he was building the division to “shape the future of Ubisoft’s portfolio of existing and future competitive games.” His earlier positions include Director of Esports for EMEA and various marketing roles on franchises including Rainbow Six Siege.
The listed duties for his former position included informing global product development and esports strategy, building season structures, and acting as a primary spokesperson. That role also required collaboration with game development and publishing teams, responsibilities he will now apply specifically to Rainbow Six, combined with full marketing management.

This appointment occurs shortly after Ubisoft’s December 2025 announcement of structural changes to Rainbow Six Esports for 2026. The changes include a revised global calendar, a new points-based qualification system, and the formal integration of the Esports World Cup (EWC) into the official circuit.
The creation of a dedicated leadership role for Rainbow Six coincides with the execution of this new competitive format. Deniele’s background in both the title’s marketing and the company’s broader esports strategy positions him as the executive overseeing these implemented changes. Further details regarding the 2026 season are expected during the upcoming Six Invitational, which will be held at the Adidas Arena in Paris from 2nd to 15th February in partnership with tournament operator BLAST.
