The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has announced FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves as another title to be featured at the inaugural Esports Nations Cup (ENC) in 2026. The fighting game will be one of 16 titles contested when the national teams tournament debuts in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, running from 2-29 November 2026.
The dedicated FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves tournament within the ENC will take place from 12-15 November 2026. A field of 32 players, each representing their national team, will first compete in a group stage consisting of four groups of eight. All group stage matches will be best-of-seven. The top four players from each group will advance to a 16-player, single-elimination playoff bracket, where all matches will be best-of-nine.
In the announcement, the EWCF stated the inclusion will “give new, emerging players, as well as nations that have historically been underrepresented in major fighting game tournaments, the opportunity to compete and gain recognition on the global stage.”

Qualification for the 32 spots will be determined through a mixed system. Sixteen players will receive direct invites based on the official SNK World Championship 2026 point rankings, limited to one player per nation, with a cut-off date of 28 June 2026. A further 13 players will qualify through regional qualifiers held from 3-5 July 2026, spanning 13 global regions from North America to Oceania. The final three slots will be allocated as Wildcard entries.
FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves is no stranger to the EWCF esports events, having debuted at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025. The game also won Best Fighting Game at The Game Awards in December 2025 and its publisher, SNK, is a partner of the ENC.
The ENC 2026 will feature an expanded format focused on national representation. Other titles already confirmed for the competition include Trackmania, Dota 2, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
