The operation will be led by Jeff Simpkins, who has been named National Team Manager. Simpkins, current Chair of the UKETC, brings a wealth of experience from managing England Gaming at the FIFAe World Cup. He will be supported by a committee of industry veterans, including Michael ˜ODEE˜ O’Dell (Scan Computers), Grant Rousseau (NIP Group), and Saahib Reehal (The FA).

The members of the collective emphasised the importance of building sustainable pathways for talent across all home nations:

Jeff Simpkins (National Team Manager): “It’s a real honour to be appointed… Representing your country in any capacity is an incredible experience, but to do so at this scale, across 16 titles, is what makes this a really unique competition. I’m looking forward to building competitive teams alongside a group of very strong coaches.”

Dave Martin (Senior VP, British Esports): “British Esports is delighted to be working in unison with a host of fantastic partners… We look forward to seeing Jeff select the best talent to give Great Britain the best possible chance of success and make the UK esports community proud.”

Mark McCready (CEO, Scottish Esports): “This collective collaboration strengthens player development pathways, which is essential for the long-term growth of the ecosystem. It creates an important opportunity for Scottish players to compete alongside the best talent from across the home nations.”

John Jackson (CEO, Esports Wales): “We’re excited for Esports Wales to be part of the Esports Nations Cup bid… It’s encouraging to see pathways developing that may support future Welsh representation at this level.”

Great Britain will compete for a share of a $20 million player prize pool, supported by an additional $20 million Development Fund to assist with travel, logistics, and marketing. High-profile British stars such as ApparentlyJack (Rocket League), Doki (Rainbow Six Siege), and Pac (Trackmania) have been featured in the official announcement video.

The ENC 2026 will feature a diverse lineup of titles including Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, VALORANT, and Rocket League. To engage the local community, watch parties are planned across the country, including at the British Esports National Esports Performance Campus in Sunderland and via Fnatic’s various London-based initiatives.
