On 2 April 2026, Resolve Esports Chief Operating Officer Jeff Simpkins announced that he had been given notice of redundancy from his role at the British esports organisation. Simpkins, who had held the COO position since September 2022 and had been with the company for over four years, will now explore new operations and leadership opportunities.
Despite leaving his daily role at the company, Simpkins will continue his duties as National Team Manager for Great Britain at the upcoming Esports Nations Cup.

According to a post by Simpkins on LinkedIn, during his tenure at Resolve he focused on developing a “positive team culture” and securing competitive performance with limited resources compared to rival organisations. He also focused on bringing transparency and inclusion to the fan base on business areas that are not usually discussed publicly.
Regarding his next professional steps, Simpkins stated: “My focus is on roles across operations and team leadership, where I can have a direct impact on culture, performance, and the development of both staff and players, whether that’s in esports, gaming, or traditional sport.”
In addition to his search for a new role, Simpkins is currently spearheading the British representation at the 2026 Esports Nations Cup. The operation is a collaborative effort formed by British Esports, Esports Wales, Scottish Esports, Fnatic, The English Football Association (The FA) via England Gaming, and the UK Esports Team Committee (UKETC), of which Simpkins serves as the current Chair.
Simpkins brings background experience to the national team from his time managing England Gaming at the FIFAe World Cup. To support the British national team project, he will be aided by an advisory committee consisting of industry veterans including Michael O’Dell from Scan Computers, Grant Rousseau from NIP Group, and Saahib Reehal from The FA.
