European esports organisation G2 Esports has appointed Pétronille Grein as its new Head of Product. With this move, Grein enters the esports and gaming industry after building her career in the fashion sector.

At G2, she will be responsible for planning and improving the company’s products. She will use her experience in areas like product selection, business strategy, creating collections, and working with different teams to help the company grow its product business. For instance, she may work with design, sales, and marketing teams together to launch new products that attract more customers and increase sales.

Before joining G2, Grein led the kidswear merchandising strategy for Tommy Hilfiger EMEA. In the role, she worked closely with the design, product development, planning, and buying teams. She managed seasonal planning from the early concept stage to products reaching the market, while also overseeing line architecture, pricing, and margin targets to match the brand’s commercial goals.

Prior to Tommy Hilfiger, Grein held senior merchandising positions at Calvin Klein and Nike. At Calvin Klein, she helped transform global strategies for women’s swimwear and worked with design and development teams to ensure collections matched the brand’s identity and market demand.

At Nike, Grein led seasonal buying strategies and product assortments for sportswear. She also handled digital merchandising initiatives, including product placement, promotions, and marketplace presentation to help drive online sales.

Pétronille Grein, newly appointed Head of Product at G2, said, “I’m excited to join G2 as Head of Product and bring my experience, energy, and passion to the table. Transitioning from the world of fashion to the booming esports and gaming space is incredibly exciting, especially at a time when we’re seeing major mainstream brands helping to shape the industry.”

Sabrina Ratih, Chief Operating Officer at G2, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Pétronille as our new Head of Product. Her extensive experience and background in merchandising and product strategy within fashion will be invaluable as G2 continues to disrupt the esports fashion space. As we continue to evolve into a next-generation sports and entertainment brand, strengthening our product function is a key priority.”

Grein’s appointment comes at a time when G2 Esports is landing some major partnerships. Just last month, the European organisation teamed up with Skin.Club as the official skin partner for its Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) roster. A couple of months earlier, it also signed a deal with sports betting platform Winamax.
