Japanese food and biotechnology company Ajinomoto Co., Inc. has confirmed its sponsorship of EVO Japan 2026, one of the most prestigious fighting game tournaments in the world.

The announcement was made through the official EVO Japan X (formerly Twitter) account. The message stated the company wants to support “the health and performance of gamers and esports participants through food and nutrition.”

Ajinomoto’s primary responsibilities in its co-sponsorship of EVO Japan 2026 center on supporting the health, well-being, and performance of gamers, esports players, competitors, staff, and attendees. The company focuses on nutrition to improve both physical and mental performance, now applying the same approach to esports.

The sponsorship fits into Ajinomoto’s work in athlete support. Through its “Victory Project”, the company provides amino acid-based nutrition and conditioning support to Japanese Olympic and Paralympic teams. It has been an official partner of the Japanese Olympic Committee since 2003 and the Japanese Paralympic Committee since 2015.

However, it’s worth noting that Ajinomoto is not the main title sponsor. That role belongs to LevTech, with the event officially titled “EVO Japan 2026 presented by LevTech.” Ajinomoto is listed among the supporting sponsors.

EVO Japan 2026 will take place from May 1 to May 3, 2026 (Friday to Sunday) at Tokyo Big Sight, using East Halls 1, 2, and 3. The event is part of the global Evolution Championship Series and attracts top players and fans from around the world. The tournament will feature major fighting game titles, including Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, 2XKO, along with competitive brackets, side events, exhibitor booths, and a large spectator area.
