Respawn Entertainment has announced a new initiative for Apex Legends, introducing the Creator Tournament Series, which allows members of its Global Creator Program to design and host their own in-game competitions.

According to Respawn, the initiative aims to move away from traditional tournament formats, offering “one-of-a-kind and unforgettable experiences for the Apex community.” Creators are encouraged to experiment with formats, whether that means melee-only matches, tabletop RPG-style adaptations, or other inventive challenges.

Participants in the series will receive support from Respawn across multiple areas, including prize pools, Twitch drops, code giveaways, official streaming assets, event organisation, and social media promotion.

Respawn is now accepting submissions from interested creators. Those already part of the Global Creator Program are advised to check Discord or contact their local creator lead for updates. The company recommends visiting the official Apex Legends channels and the Creator Hub for guidance and inspiration.

Other community tournament initiatives supported by publishers include Riot Gamesofficial guidance for members looking to organise tournaments for its upcoming fighting game, 2XKO. Esports platform Toornament has also announced a partnership with French developer Sloclap to support the launch of a competitive scene for Rematch, a newly released football-themed title.
