Asetek Racing has announced it will become the official title sponsor of iRacing’s Formula 1600 Rookie Series. Under the new multi-year agreement, the competition will be rebranded as the Asetek Racing Formula 1600 Rookie Series, serving as a primary entry point for aspiring open-wheel racers within the world’s leading motorsport simulation.
Asetek, a Danish company founded in 2000, originally gained global recognition as a pioneer in liquid cooling technology for PCs before expanding into the sim racing market in 2021. Now a leader in “mechatronic” innovation, the brand manufactures high-end hardware ranging from professional-grade hydraulic pedals to entry-level direct-drive wheelbases.
The sponsorship aims to bridge the gap between Asetek’s hardware ecosystem and iRacing’s software platform. Competitors will now have the option to feature the Asetek Racing logo on their in-game vehicles, and iRacing will serve as the exclusive software for Asetek’s official rigs at all major international trade shows.

Regarding the strategic fit for the sim racing hardware manufacturer, Maja Sand-Grimnitz, SVP Simsports at Asetek Racing, stated: “Sponsoring the Formula 1600 Rookie Series was a natural fit for us as it’s about helping sim racers develop as they enter competitive racing. We do that by giving everyone the opportunity to experience engineered reality with our products. We’re passionate about creating an immersive racing experience that’s as close to the real thing as possible.”
Angela Sinopoli, Director of Sales at iRacing.com, highlighted the series’ importance for player development: “It’s one of the most popular series on the sim and a great place for users to learn racecraft. This partnership shows Asetek’s commitment to helping iRacers become the best sim racers they can be. We’re excited to welcome Asetek Racing as the newest sponsor.”
The Asetek Racing Formula 1600 Rookie Series is scheduled to begin its new season on 17 March 2026. The series features daily races and weekly track rotations, providing a consistent competitive environment for drivers looking to progress through the iRacing licensing system toward professional-tier championships.
