The esports production company BLAST is seeking global partners to stage its largest-ever slate of live arena events, officially launching its host destination application process for 2027 and 2028 to secure cities for more than 40 live audience events worldwide. The initiative underscores the organiser’s expansion plans and the growing economic significance of major esports tournaments for host regions.

Interested cities and regions are now invited to submit expressions of interest to host events across BLAST’s portfolio, which includes titles such as Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), Dota 2, Fortnite, Rocket League, Rainbow Six, and Brawl Stars. The process, which opened on 29th January 2026, is designed to build long-term partnerships for the 2027 and 2028 event seasons. BLAST projects that over 500,000 fans will attend its live events across those two years, with more than 70% travelling from outside the host city.

James Woollard, VP Destinations & Market Development at BLAST, highlighted the strategic aim behind the process. “Our focus is on building long-term, strategic partnerships with host destinations that deliver measurable economic impacts, global exposure and lasting community and cultural value,” he stated. “We consistently return to and repeat partnerships with host cities, which demonstrates the value of our model.”

The drive for new host destinations follows a period of significant growth for the organisers. In 2025, BLAST delivered 15 arena shows across ten countries, selling over 190,000 tickets. The company cites its BLAST.tv Austin Major as a benchmark for the value such events can bring; the Counter-Strike tournament reportedly generated over $102 million in total economic impact for the region.

The host destination process has set specific deadlines for interested parties. Initial expressions of interest must be submitted by 13 February 2026 through hostcities@blast.tv, with full bid deadlines on 16 March 2026 for 2027 events and 3 July 2026 for 2028 events.
