BLAST may soon be calling Malta its new home base as the esports giant is in the process of registering its entity locally, with plans to run and host its events directly from the island.
According to a recent Times of Malta report, the move is tied to the company’s €10 million investment, which is expected to roll out over the next three years. On top of that, BLAST.tv is aiming to reach 3.2 billion followers by 2025.

Gaming Malta CEO, Ivan Filletti, said, “Today’s Council witnessed the unveiling of major investments, from new esports organisations and office expansions to enhanced operations and talent development initiatives. Together, these milestones signify a strong and forward-looking ecosystem, fully aligned with the Malta Vision 2050.”
Earlier this year, BLAST announced a three-year partnership with GamingMalta, an independent non-profit set up by the Government of Malta along with the Malta Gaming Authority. Back then, neither side said how much the deal was worth.
With the investment, BLAST is about to become a key player among gaming, esports, digital entertainment and iGaming companies ramping up their presence in Malta. The Economy Ministry highlighted that the sector is on track for a combined €60 million in investment and around 1,300 new high-quality jobs by the end of 2026.
Several big names have already mapped out their plans. Imperial Esports, which is one of Brazil’s prominent esports organisations, is setting up its European office in Malta this December. Unity is also pushing deeper into training young talent in game development.
As for BLAST, the move comes at a time when BLAST-related projects are popping up everywhere. Just recently, Nova Wallet teamed up with BLAST to widen their global esports partnership, and JioBLAST rolled out its first tournament in India, hinting at how fast the ecosystem around BLAST is expanding.
