Epic Games and BLAST announced today that the first Major of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) 2026 season will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, from February 19 to February 22.

The company says the final two days of matches will be played live at Agganis Arena, where thousands of fans are expected to attend as top Rocket League teams compete for a $354,000 prize pool and the first championship title of the new season.

Agganis Arena, located on Boston University’s campus, is one of the city’s top venues for sports and entertainment. It previously hosted the RLCS Spring Major in 2023, where Team Vitality won the title. The arena will now welcome Rocket League fans once again for another live competition.

This event comes shortly after the RLCS 2026 season roadmap was revealed at the World Championship in Lyon in September. The roadmap also includes a Kickoff LAN tournament set to take place in Copenhagen this December.

Teams from around the world will first play through online qualifiers and regional tournaments to earn a spot at the Boston Major. Their results here will help decide who makes it to Major 2 later in the season, and ultimately who qualifies for the 2026 Rocket League World Championship.

Epic Games and BLAST formed a multi-year partnership on January 4, 2024. Under this deal, BLAST took over full operations of the RLCS. This includes managing competitions, event production, marketing, and commercial broadcasting. The change replaced ESL FACEIT Group, which had run the league since a 2020 agreement with Psyonix.

Away from Boston, BLAST has been making big moves of its own. The company is setting up a base in Malta, tied to a €10 million investment expected over the next three years. On top of that, BLAST just signed a multi-year deal with global payments company Corpay Cross-Border, which will help manage currency and international payments as BLAST continues to run esports events around the world.
