The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has issued an interim suspension against South American professional Dota 2 esports team Team Clown Crew/BarrancoBar and everyone associated with the team while it investigates allegations of suspicious activity during recent Dota 2 matches and qualifiers.
According to ESIC, the investigation is focused on unusual in-game behaviour seen in several matches during the Get Good League Season 2. The organisation said it is reviewing incidents that include strange camera movements and player-perspective activity, suspicious de-warding and map-awareness moments, and reactions to enemy movements that appeared to happen outside the normal vision or information range available to players during a match.
ESIC is also investigating whether players may have used radar tools, second-screen information, unauthorised external information, or other prohibited assistance during matches. The investigation further includes whether other members of the team may have known about, assisted with, or benefited from the alleged conduct.
The matches currently under review include Game ID 8790064789, Game ID 8774123157, and Game ID 8774206273. ESIC said the investigation specifically includes gameplay involving the player Cristian “Accel“ Cruz, along with possible team-level knowledge or benefit connected to the alleged activity.
In its statement, ESIC said the ongoing investigation could involve potential breaches related to cheating or attempted cheating, use of unauthorised external tools or information, radar or second-screen assistance, match manipulation or attempted manipulation, betting-related misconduct, failure to report suspicious conduct, and behaviour that could bring esports and competitive integrity into disrepute.

Effective immediately, ESIC has provisionally suspended all registered players of Clown Crew/BarrancoBar. The suspension also applies to substitutes, coaches, analysts, managers, team staff, and anyone acting on behalf of or supporting the team in ESIC Member Events or competitions operating under the ESIC Integrity Programme.
During the suspension period, the affected individuals are not allowed to participate in ESIC Member events or any competitions covered by the ESIC Integrity Programme.
ESIC stated that the suspension is only an interim protective measure and is not a final decision on the case. The organisation added that if sanctions are later imposed, the time already spent under suspension may be counted towards any future punishment.
The suspension also comes at a time when ESIC has been cracking down harder across different esports titles. Back in April 2026, the commission handed a lifetime ban to Dota 2 player Alexandr “Sensibility” Filatov over serious corruption-related offences. Around the same period, Counter-Strike 2 player Maurizio “MAUschine” Weber also received a lifetime ban after slapping another player during CAGGTUS Leipzig 2026.
