FC Porto and LUNA Esports have agreed to extend their partnership for another two seasons. The renewal was signed on Thursday and continues the collaboration that began in October 2024.
With this new deal, FC Porto LUNA Esports will keep competing in EA FC tournaments, with both men’s and women’s teams taking part in competitions organised by the Portuguese Football Federation and Liga Portugal.
André Villas-Boas, the president of Portuguese sports club Porto, said in an official statement (translated from Portuguese), “It is the renewal of a winning partnership, one that has delivered many titles for us, with great pride for Porto fans. I thank Armando and Rute for the generosity of allowing us to remain partners in eSports. Luna represents what FC Porto represents, a team that wants to win, that wants to succeed. I was just telling Armando about our desire to bring, alongside our international trophies, the eSports World Cup.”

The official announcement also states that this renewal adds a new detail to the team’s official jersey. A new badge featuring Diogo Jota’s image will be added to the left sleeve of the team’s official jersey as a tribute to the founder.
The organisation says he founded LUNA Esports and played an important role in creating the connection between the club and the esports project. Jota also represented FC Porto as a footballer during the 2016/17 season.
