Garena Free Fire has officially entered the Guinness World Records after its 2025 competitive season was recognized as the Largest Mobile Team-Based Esports Tournament. The record was verified on November 15, 2025, during the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Global Finals at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta.
Guinness confirmed that Free Fire achieved an 618,778 unique participants throughout its year-long 2025 circuit. This total accounts for every registered competitor who took part in any official stage of the season, including open qualifiers, regional leagues, the knockout phase, and the Global Finals. The turnout translates to more than 154,000 complete squads of four players.

The 2025 FFWS knockout rounds ran from October 31 to November 9, narrowing the competition to the top 18 teams that advanced to the Grand Finals in Jakarta. The event featured two competitive modes: Battle Royale using the Champion Rush format where teams raced to 80 points before fighting for a final Booyah, and Clash Squad, a tactical mode focused on short round-based battles.

Free Fire isn’t the only mobile title breaking records this month. Just one week earlier, on November 8, Honor of Kings broke another Guinness World Record as more than 62,000 fans filled Beijing’s National Stadium, known as the Bird’s Nest. This crowd set the new world record for largest attendance at an esports match, surpassing the previous benchmark of 45,000 set during a PES 2016 event in Paris.
With Free Fire’s huge player participation and Honor of Kings’ historic live crowd, mobile esports just had one of its biggest months ever.
