French esports organisation Karmine Corp has officially announced Midas as a new partner of its Rocket League esports team.
Midas is one of the world’s largest chain providers of automotive service and repair. Originally known for mufflers and exhaust components, Midas has evolved into a full-service car care centre handling everything from routine maintenance to complex mechanical repair.
Midas’ logo branding has already appeared on Karmine Corp’s Rocket League roster jersey. No financial details were disclosed.
When it comes to the contract length, the new deal is apparently centred on the RLCS (Rocket League Championship Series) 2027 competitive season (typically running through the annual tournament circuit from late 2026 into 2027). However, specific multi-year extensions or option clauses have also not been publicly detailed.
Midas takes over from Michelin, the tyre maker, which had sponsored Karmine Corp’s Rocket League team since 2021. Both companies work in the automotive industry, so the change keeps the team connected to the same field.
Michelin has not walked away from the game, though. It has a wider agreement with BLAST, the company that runs Rocket League tournaments. That could signal a change in approach, with the brand choosing to support the competition itself rather than a single team. Volker Düring, Lenovo’s VP and General Manager, explained the strategy in an exclusive interview with The Esports Radar, as Lenovo has taken a similar approach by moving away from sponsoring individual teams and now focuses on supporting major global competitions.
Midas, on the other hand, appears to have adopted a hybrid approach to partnerships, securing deals with individual esports teams like Karmine Corp, as well as tournament organiser BLAST for the RLCS 2026 season. However, unlike Michelin, Midas became the official car service partner exclusively for the French-language broadcast of the RLCS tournament. That agreement included branded segments, broadcast features and digital content aimed at French-speaking Rocket League fans.
The new deal came at the same time the club revealed its new lineup for the 2026-27 season of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS), the game’s official professional circuit. The club’s previous lineup of Axel “Vatira“ Touret, Tristan “Atow“ Soyez, and Charles “juicy“ Sabiani has left the team. In their place, Karmine Corp signed a new squad featuring two-time World Champion Evan “M0nkey M00n“ Rogez, Hungarian competitor Attila “bibbaba“ Eötvös, and French player reyyn.
