Motorsport UK has unveiled the 2025 edition of its international sim racing tournament, now rebranded as the Four Nations Esports Cup, marking a new era of competition with the arrival of South Africa as the fourth nation to join the virtual grid.

What began in 2022 as a head-to-head showdown between Australia and the UK has grown steadily, with New Zealand joining in 2023 to form the Tri-Nations Esports Cup. The trio renewed rivalries in 2024, with Australia ultimately claiming bragging rights as the top sim racing nation.

Now, in 2025, the iconic sporting rivalry between the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa will extend to the digital racetrack. Hosted on iRacing and featuring the McLaren 720S GT3 with a fixed setup to ensure fairness, this year’s competition promises high-octane action and puts national pride on the line.

The format features two key phases. First, a 24-hour open time attack qualifying session will run across July 19-20, giving aspiring racers the chance to post their best lap times and earn a place on the national squad. The top 10 drivers from each country will qualify, creating a 40-driver grid for the main event.

The final, set for August 4, will feature two 30-minute races — one at the iconic Silverstone Circuit and the other at Australia’s legendary Mount Panorama, Bathurst. With a full grid of elite sim racers and live broadcast coverage, the Four Nations Esports Cup is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated sim racing events of the year.

Drivers of all skill levels are encouraged to take part in the qualifiers and represent their country on the virtual track. Prizes and national bragging rights are up for grabs — and Motorsport UK is calling on UK sim racers to rise to the challenge and bring the title home.
