MPL Malaysia, the country’s premier Mobile Legends: Bang Bang professional league, has announced its Season 16 Awards, recognising top players, coaches, and, for the first time, media contributors through the “2025 Media – Best Content Award”.

The new media category highlights the importance of storytelling and content creation in Malaysian esports, celebrating outlets and creators that engage audiences, uphold positive community values, and amplify the league’s profile.

In a press release, Krystal Tan, Head of Business Development at MOONTON Games, said: “This season’s Awards are a tribute to the incredible players, talents, and fans. Introducing a media award for the first time recognises the pivotal role content creators play in shaping the Malaysian esports ecosystem.”

The awards continue to honour players across established categories such as Talent of the Season, Rookie of the Season, and Most Improved Player, combining professional committee votes with audience input to ensure credibility and engagement.

Season 16 is also the final edition before MPL Malaysia transitions to an enhanced franchise format in 2026. While the awards focus on celebrating this season’s achievements, the shift to a franchised league represents a significant structural change for teams, sponsors, and media stakeholders looking to engage with Malaysia’s growing esports market.
