Ninjas in Pyjamas is marking its 25th anniversary with a special Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) showmatch, presented in partnership with Rainbet, which will see legendary former players compete against the organisation’s current stars. The event, designed to celebrate the esports organisation’s long-standing legacy, will be broadcast live on 5 November 2025 and will feature a mix of iconic players from NIP’s history and its present-day rosters.
The showmatch, titled the ‘Rainbet Anniversary Showmatch‘, will pit a team of NIP Legends against a team representing the current era of the organisation. The legends team will be headlined by Patrik ‘f0rest’ Lindberg and Christopher ‘GeT_RiGhT’ Alesund, with three additional legendary players to be announced via NIP’s social media channels ahead of the event. They will face off against a team comprised of players from NIP’s primary Counter-Strike lineup and its women’s roster, NIP Impact.

The match format will be a best-of-three series. Should one team win 2-0, a bonus match will be played, featuring the NIP Legends and current stars mixed together into two separate teams, guaranteeing a minimum of three maps for viewers. The broadcast will take place on NIP’s official YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as on the personal Twitch channels of f0rest and GeT_RiGhT. For a live audience, a free, limited-capacity watch party will be held at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere.
The event arrives during a period of significant business development for the NIP Group. The organisation recently appointed Grant Rousseau as Chief Operating Officer of its esports division and has diversified its revenue streams through investments in crypto mining and a major expansion into the Chinese market, including plans to open over 100 esports hotels. This anniversary celebration follows the recent announcement of Rainbet as a new sponsor and the renewal of its long-standing partnership with Red Bull.
