Europe-based esports organisation OG Esports has entered a major global partnership with betting brand Melbet.
As part of this deal, OG is officially expanding into Southeast Asia with a brand new all-Filipino Dota 2 team that will compete under the OG name. By entering Southeast Asia, OG is aiming to connect with one of the world’s biggest esports regions and tap into the Dota 2 talent found in the Philippines and nearby countries.
OG Esports mentioned that Melbet will support them in many ways throughout the year, including helping with training, content creation, and fan events. The two sides plan to produce more regional content, show behind the scenes stories, and bring OG players closer to fans in Southeast Asia.
Xavier Oswald, CEO of OG Esports, said in an official statement, “Partnering with Melbet is a powerful step in our long-term commitment to the SEA region. Together, we’re not just showing up on stage, we’re investing in developing and supporting Southeast Asian talents, both in-game and behind the scenes. SEA is one of the beating hearts of esports, and with Melbet at our side, we want to give local players, creators, and fans the platform they deserve.”

Melbet’s Head of Sponsorships, Andrey S, said, “OG’s expansion into Southeast Asia is one of the most significant developments in today’s Dota 2 landscape. Their global prestige combined with a Filipino roster creates a powerful intersection of legacy and rising regional talent. Melbet is proud to support OG as they begin this new era and connect with millions of fans across Southeast Asia and beyond.”
Both sides say the timing is ideal because Southeast Asia continues to grow quickly in esports viewership and competition. OG already has a large fanbase in the region, and this step is expected to make that connection even stronger.
On top of this SEA expansion, OG has also jumped into Honor of Kings esports, becoming the Western Europe partner for the game and putting together a team for the Kings Major West League. The organisation also recently saw a major ownership change, with Chiliz Group acquiring a 51 percent controlling stake and naming former co founder and shareholder Xavier Oswald as its new CEO.
