Red Sea Global (RSG), the Saudi developer behind touristic destinations The Red Sea and AMAALA, has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with leading South Korean esports organisation T1. The partnership was formalised during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The deal, brokered by CAA Sports – T1’s exclusive commercial agent – positions RSG as a prominent presence in the esports space due to the T1 popularity, with its logo set to appear on the front of the organisation’s official jersey. RSG will also become the presenting sponsor for T1’s YouTube content, which has 1.56 million subscribers, during major competitions and international tournaments.
T1 is recognised globally for its achievements in competitive gaming. Besides mutiple LCK and world titles, the organisation is home to Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, considered a legend in League of Legends and overall esports history. In addition to its flagship title, the team competes in games including VALORANT, Tekken 8, EA FC and Overwatch 2.
Raed Albasseet, Group Chief Environment and Sustainability Officer at RSG, said in a press release: “Esports is an exciting and growing area, boasting millions of fans worldwide, including in Saudi Arabia. Not only does this partnership give us a powerful platform to connect with new demographics across new geographies but aligns our brand with an organization known for its relentless focus on innovation, excellence and pushing boundaries.”
Josh Ahn, Chief Operating Officer at T1, commented: “Just as we at T1 strive for mastery in competitive gaming, RSG is setting new global standards in luxury hospitality and regenerative tourism. We will seek to bring to life a shared ethos of excellence, precision, and performance. Together, we look forward to creating unique experiences that will resonate with our global fanbase.”
The partnership also highlights Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a global hub for sports, entertainment and innovation.
AMAALA, which aims to become the world’s most comprehensive health and wellness destination, is set to launch later this year with 1,470 hotel keys across eight luxury resorts.
