Riot Games has officially awarded CBLOL, Brazil’s premier professional league for League of Legends, a second qualification slot for the League of Legends World Championship 2026.

The update was shared on March 22, 2026 as part of changes to MSI and Worlds. This means Brazil will now send two teams instead of one. It is the first time since before the LTA system that CBLOL has had two spots at Worlds.

In 2025, CBLOL and North America’s LCS were merged into one system called the League of The Americas (LTA). For 2026, Riot decided to separate them again. When the slots were first announced, CBLOL had only one Worlds spot, while LCS had three. After reviewing how regions have been performing, Riot decided to give Brazil an extra slot.

The company said it had reviewed regional slots and confirmed the new 19-team format for Worlds in the United States. CBLOL will also benefit at MSI 2026, where its team will go straight into the Bracket Stage without playing Play-Ins.

A total of 15 teams will come from the five major regions: LCK (Korea), LPL (China), LEC (Europe), LCS (North America), and LCP. Each of these regions will send three teams.

There are also two special slots linked to MSI 2026 (Mid-Season Invitational). One slot goes to the MSI 2026 winner, as long as that team also qualifies through their regional league. Another extra slot is given to the second-best performing region at MSI 2026, rewarding strong international performance.

For Brazil specifically, both of its Worlds spots will be decided through CBLOL Split 2. The first seed will be the team that wins Split 2, while the second seed will be the runner-up of that split.

Riot also confirmed that the Play-In stage will be held at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. The tournament will then move to Allen, Texas for the Swiss Stage and Knockout Stage, before concluding with the Grand Final at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on November 14.
