Riot Games has revealed the LEC Roadtrip, a range of League of Legends esports events taking place during the 2025 LEC season.
The developer and publisher says the events are showdays for fans of teams competing in the highest tier of competition in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The first two teams hosting a showday are Spanish esports organisation Movistar KOI and French organisation Karmine Corp. From April 26th to 27th, 2025, the event taking place in Madrid will see G2 Esports play GIANTX while the hosts take to the rift against Fnatic. The organisation has revealed a range of ‘festivities’ are taking place alongside the matches with details being revealed at a later date.
Karmine Corp’s stop on the LEC Roadtrip takes place from May 10th to 11th at Les Arènes in France. Similar to the Madrid event, G2 Esports will play against SK Gaming, while Karmine Corp faces off in an all-French clash against Team Vitality. On day two, the hosts will play G2 Esports while Team Vitality and SK Gaming do battle.
Riot Games has stated that the LEC Roadtrip isn’t replacing the LEC Roadshow, which is still planned to take place once the Summer Split has ended. Both Roadtrip events will be broadcast across official LEC channels and its partnered co-streamers.
The LEC Roadtrip is part of a ‘pilot initiative’ Riot Games is running throughout the 2025 LEC season. It says it will ‘evaluate the concept throughout the year,’ assessing whether there is potential for the initiative to expand.
“We’re always determined to give fans the best experience possible, so we’re delighted to introduce the LEC Roadtrip, providing more opportunities to enjoy League of Legends in-person,” revealed Artym Bykov, LEC Commissioner. “Movistar KOI and Karmine Corp are renowned for having passionate and loud fanbases, and we can’t wait to collaborate with both teams to bring these events to life for their communities.”
