Saudi Arabian organisation Team Falcons have secured the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 Club Championship for the second year running.

The team currently holds 4,900 points after seven weeks of competition, placing 700 points ahead of Team Liquid on 4,200. The team also competed in the widest range of tournaments, entering 22 events compared with Liquid’s 13. The victory secures Falcons $7 million in prize money.

EWC CEO Ralf Reichert wrote on LinkedIn: “Team Falcons are our back-to-back Club Champions. Congratulations to the players, coaches, analysts, staff, and the Falcons family — you earned every point. This year felt like the true reflection of what the Club Championship is meant to be: every match, every point, every title was necessary.”

The 2025 competition proved far closer than the previous year, when Falcons finished more than 3,000 points ahead of Team Liquid. Reichert pointed to Rocket League as an example of the decisive battles within the competition, referring to Falcons’ third-place match against Team Vitality. “It was not just a bronze fight — it felt like a final. Both teams knew those points could decide the Club Championship. That is pressure, that is drama, and that is what makes this format so special.”

Falcons achieved results across multiple titles. In Overwatch 2, their roster entered through the Last Chance Qualifier before going on to win the championship, fulfilling the requirement of at least one title victory. The organisation also gained crucial points in Rocket League, while consistent results across 25 titles sustained their lead.

The team marked the achievement on social media. On X, Falcons posted: “From the top of the world, we proved it for the second time: the trophy is Saudi, and it will remain Saudi.” On LinkedIn, they wrote: “Officially, the Falcons are champions for the second consecutive time.”

Grant Rousseau, Global Director of Esports and Operations at Team Falcons, who confirmed he will leave the organisation following the EWC, wrote on X: “Once a Falcon, always a Falcon. My heart will forever be green.”

Reichert added that the final weekend of EWC 2025 will see $20 million in prize money still to be awarded across Counter-Strike 2, Street Fighter 6 and Crossfire. The closing events will also feature the New Global Sport Conference (NGSC) in Riyadh, bringing together more than 1,500 executives.
