Esports organisation Team Secret has entered a media partnership with Vietnamese broadcaster VTVCab, a move focused on deepening its engagement with one of Southeast Asia’s key competitive gaming markets for the League of Legends World Championship 2025 (Worlds 2025).

The collaboration with VTVCab, described as one of Vietnam’s leading media and content providers, is centred on amplifying Team Secret’s reach through localised storytelling and strategic coverage following the participation of its Vietnam-based League of Legends (LoL) squad, “Team Secret Whales“, at the Worlds 2025. The partnership will leverage VTVCab’s nationwide distribution across both traditional broadcasting and digital platforms.

The announcement frames the alliance as a response to esports “continuing to enter the mainstream,” noting that such media collaborations are critical for expanding fan access and engagement. For Team Secret, the direct benefit will be increased nationwide visibility in the country.

John Yao, CEO of Team Secret, indicated the VTVCab partnership is a strategic effort to connect with the Vietnamese fanbase, stating, “Partnering with VTVcab allows us to connect with fans across Vietnam in a more meaningful and accessible way, and their media reach and digital evolution make them an ideal partner as we head into Worlds 2025.”

The sentiment was echoed by VTVCab’s ON Live Esports Director, Le Nhat Linh, who commented, “Esports is becoming a defining part of modern entertainment, and through this collaboration we aim to bring Team Secret’s content to wider audiences across our platforms.”

Team Secret is an European-founded organisation with headquarters in the United States. It maintains a significant global presence with offices in locations including Ho Chi Minh City. This structure supports its operations across various regions, which includes fielding specific teams for Southeast Asia such as Team Secret Whales.

In a separate development following its Worlds 2025 qualification, Team Secret has announced an expansion of its existing partnership with Pulsar Gaming Gears. The sponsor, previously supporting the organisation’s VALORANT division, will now also serve as the official gaming gear partner for the League of Legends roster for their journey through the international championship.

The League of Legends World Championship represents a significant opportunity for organisations to grow their commercial portfolios. Alongside Team Secret’s deals, other teams have announced partnerships for the tournament, with G2 Esports partnering with Lufthansa and Gen.G securing deals with Korean food brand OTOKI and with Burger King for the competition.
