Sports betting platform Winamax has officially announced partnership deals with two renowned esports organisations, G2 Esports and Team Heretics.
As per the official release, Winamax is teaming up with G2 Esports’ League of Legends roster. The partnership also confirms that the company will become the official betting partner of G2 Esports for the Kings League in Germany, a competition that combines football with entertainment and digital culture.
On the other hand, Winamax is collaborating with Team Heretics’ VALORANT roster, which has earned around $1.4 million in prize money across all tournaments. While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, it has been confirmed that the Winamax logo will appear at the center of both teams’ jerseys during events such as interviews, festivals, and video content.
During official competitions, the branding will be more subtle as per Riot Games’ rules. Ambassadors from both organisations will wear team jerseys featuring Winamax branding, making the company’s logo eventually appear in the background during live streams. On the content side, Winamax plans to launch a weekly podcast called HopEUm which will feature pro players, content creators, and guests from the European esports scene.
It’s important to note that Riot Games did not allow betting sponsors for teams in official tournaments before. This changed in June 2025, when Riot announced that Tier 1 League of Legends (LoL) and VALORANT teams in the Americas and EMEA regions could have betting sponsors under specific requirements.
“We are incredibly excited to work with a truly pan-European partner that perfectly matches G2’s DNA. Our fans are everywhere, literally in every country, and collaborating with a brand that shares this same European identity makes a lot of sense for us. With the launch of HopEUm, we wanted to go beyond a classic partnership and create a project that brings real value to our fans and to the community,” said Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2 Esports.
“This agreement reflects the degree of professionalization the esports ecosystem has reached in Europe. To collaborate with a partner such as Winamax, within a regulated environment and under criteria of responsibility, enables us to pursue an ambitious, but also sustainable, project. At Team Heretics we understand these alliances as the means to solidify our presence in League of Legends and VALORANT, to invest in quality content for our community and guarantee the club’s long-term stability,” said Antonio Catena, CEO of Team Heretics.
Alongside backing esports organisations, Winamax also secured a commercial partnership with the independent esports news platform Sheep Esports last year.
