Russian esports organisation Team Spirit has announced a partnership deal with Dubai-based luxury real estate developer Mr. Eight Development.

As part of the agreement, Mr. Eight Development will become an official partner of Team Spirit. The team has also confirmed the placement of the Mr. Eight Development branding on Team Spirit jerseys and visual materials, as well as the use of media rights to the team’s players.

In this context, “use of media rights to the team’s players” most likely means that Mr. Eight Development is being given permission to use Team Spirit players’ images, names, likenesses, interviews, or other player-related content for marketing and promotional purposes.

Neither party has shared the financial value of the deal, how long it will run, or other details about its scope beyond the logo placement or media rights use.

Konstantin Machaidze, Director of Marketing and Business Development, Team Spirit, said, “We are excited to launch our partnership with Mr. Eight Development – partnering with a luxury real estate developer demonstrates that esports is gaining interest far beyond the gaming industry. Mr. Eight is a company with an excellent reputation and a wide portfolio of projects. High quality standards and attention to detail are what unite our projects. I am confident that the collaboration between Team Spirit and Mr. Eight will be productive!”

Emīls Daujats, Director of Mr. Eight Development, said, “Team Spirit is character, discipline, and the ability to win on the highest stage. We are taking this partnership seriously and expect to live up to the position we’ve been entrusted with. For Mr. Eight Development, collaborating with Team Spirit is part of a strategy to connect the brand’s Dubai heritage with strong international teams and communities that share the same standards of quality and ambition.”

While Mr. Eight Development has several active partnership deals in traditional sports, the agreement with Team Spirit appears to be the Dubai-based luxury real estate developer’s debut deal in esports.
