Singapore is set to stage five major esports arena tournaments under a new multi-year agreement between esports production company BLAST and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).
This November, the agreement will begin with BLAST Dota Slam Singapore — the company’s first-ever Dota 2 arena competition — running from 7 to 9 November at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The tournament will feature leading teams from around the world, a $1 million prize pool, and a global broadcast in more than 50 territories and 21 languages.
The partnership follows the sold-out BLAST Premier World Final in 2024, which brought Counter-Strike’s top teams to the Resorts World Convention Centre for the company’s Southeast Asia debut. The event also offered a $1 million prize pool.
“BLAST has major global ambitions as a leader in esports and competitive entertainment,” said Leo Matlock, BLAST’s Chief Business Officer. “We are incredibly excited to be making a long-term commitment to the region through this new partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board. Together, we’ll bring four spectacular esports arena events to the Lion City, after this year’s Dota Slam.”
STB Assistant Chief Executive Jean Ng said: “We are delighted to forge this new multi-year partnership with BLAST that anchors a regular pipeline of esports events in Singapore and strengthens our position as Asia’s leading esports and entertainment hub. Large-scale international esports events create significant opportunities for our tourism ecosystem, benefiting local businesses and growing the local events and esports industries.”
Organisers expect the agreement to generate tens of millions of dollars in economic impact through tourism, job creation and global exposure. Singapore will join BLAST’s existing host cities, which include London, Lyon, Austin, Hong Kong and Rio de Janeiro.
The Singapore agreement comes as BLAST continues an active global expansion. In 2025, the company has already announced new ventures in Malta, the United States, and India.
