SONIX, the Swiss AI-powered voice and competitive gaming platform, has appointed Laurent Bischof, a board member of the premier French esports organisation Team Vitality, to its own Board of Directors. The move, effective immediately, is designed to leverage Bischof’s two decades of venture capital and esports strategy experience to advance SONIX’s goal of creating an all-in-one platform for competitive gaming communities.
Bischof notably helped shape Team Vitality’s long-term strategy, and has invested his own capital into SONIX alongside joining the board.
“I’m excited to contribute to SONIX’s journey,” said Bischof. “The convergence of AI, real-time communication, and competitive gaming presents one of the most compelling opportunities in tech and esports today. SONIX’s innovative approach to voice tech and community tools positions it as a leader in the space.”
Laurent’s arrival coincides with SONIX’s plan to integrate tournament features into its low-latency voice platform, targeting a perceived gap in the market. The company argues that competitive gamers, tournament organisers, and teams currently juggle multiple disparate tools unable to monetise their fanbases effectively.

“We are honoured to welcome Laurent to the SONIX Board,” said Nicolas Abelé, CEO & Co-founder of SONIX, in a press release. “His deep understanding of esports, community dynamics, and strategic growth will help us accelerate our vision of building the platform that gamers and creators choose to connect, compete, and win.”
According to Abelé, in a statement provided exclusively to The Esports Radar, the appointment underscores a strategic push to help esports organisations develop new, direct revenue streams beyond traditional sponsorship. According to the executive, the company is currently in discussions with several esports organisations from different regions in the world regarding potential partnerships.
SONIX’s strategy involves providing its platform free to tournament organisers and esports teams, with a revenue model based on premium subscriptions. The integrated platform, featuring voice, tournament organisation, and upcoming community features like 3D avatars and branded mini-games, is scheduled for a full launch in the first week of February.
