OffStrike, the landmark tournament set to be Pakistan’s first international Tier-2 Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) event, has been officially postponed from its scheduled March window. The joint venture between Spotcomm Global and Vidermedia announced that while the event is not cancelled, it will be moved to a later date in 2026 to ensure the safety of all participants.
The decision follows a week of significant geopolitical turmoil in the region. Protests have erupted across Pakistan’s urban centres following the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader. These disturbances, combined with escalating border conflicts with Afghanistan, have led to widespread security restrictions and the suspension of various international diplomatic operations in the country.

In an exclusive statement regarding the postponement, Muhammad Mohsin, CEO of Vidermedia, emphasized a “safety-first” approach: “Our goal has always been to deliver a safe and world-class international event. Given the current regional circumstances, postponement was the most responsible path forward. Our commitment to the partners and fans remains unchanged.”
Hassam Sohail Ahmed, Founder & CEO Spotcomm Global, also provided an official statement: “Due to the ongoing military escalation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran—which has led to widespread airspace closures and significant disruptions in global travel—we have decided to postpone this week’s OffStrike. Safety remains our top priority. We will be announcing new dates soon. The wellbeing of our team and partners comes first.”
The tournament was originally slated to take place at the DreamWorld Resort in Karachi, featuring a $10,000 prize pool and six professional teams, including invited international squads from Europe and Asia. Before the postponement, five participants had already been revealed, including Asian invites The Huns and Chinggis Warriors, alongside local Pakistani teams Come Mid and Legion. The event is a cornerstone of Pakistan’s effort to formalise its esports ecosystem, supported by the commercial agency Playmakers and media partner The Esports Radar.
Organisers have stated that all commercial negotiations and partnership agreements remain in place as they look for a more stable window later this year to hold the competition.
