Team Liquid announced that their community and competitive roster raised $20,264 for UNICEF during their recent pursuit of the World of Warcraft Race to World First (RWF). While the guild secured its fourth consecutive RWF title, the organisation gathered funds through dedicated stream segments, viewer donations, and charity auctions held throughout the marathon broadcast.

According to Team Liquid, these contributions will directly fund tangible initiatives for vulnerable children, such as “School-in-a-Box” kits for conflict zones, expanded access to educational technology, and specialised training for teachers.

This successful fundraiser is the latest milestone in a partnership between Team Liquid and the United Nations children’s agency that was unveiled in November 2025 at the Intel x Team Liquid World Tour in London. The collaboration was designed to leverage the organisation’s reach among Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences to champion UNICEF’s “Quality Education” objective.

At the time of the launch, Team Liquid Founder and Co-CEO Victor Goossens shared he viewed this alliance as a way to bring similar transformative opportunities to young people worldwide.

The synergy between high-stakes competitive gaming and global advocacy has become a core pillar of Team Liquid’s “esports for all” mission. By integrating charity goals into their most-watched competitive moments, such as the RWF, the organisation has managed to turn a gaming marathon into a significant tool for social impact.

Sebastien Lyon, Chief of Corporate Partnerships at UNICEF, previously highlighted that this collaboration aimed to turn digital awareness into real-world funding. With this latest $20,000 contribution, the partnership continues to remember that the massive viewership of top-tier esports can be effectively mobilised for humanitarian causes beyond the digital arena.
