Nordic cryptocurrency exchange Safello has announced its sponsorship of the 2025 Swedish Cup (Svenska Cupen), Sweden’s premier national Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament. This is the first time that Safello is sponsoring an esports and gaming event.
As the title sponsor, Safello’s primary objective is to promote their crypto platform among gamers through on-stream branding, digital promotions, in-game ads, and on-site activations at the finals. The partnership will also include a series of collaborative PR and educational initiatives to promote crypto awareness within the Nordic region.

The Swedish Cup is organised by Fragbite AB, a subsidiary of Safello’s partner Fragbite Group AB. With a prize pool of SEK 300,000 (approximately $32,000 USD), the competition also offers Swedish CS2 players the opportunity to advance from their home setups to LAN finals in front of a live audience.
Just days before the sponsorship reveal, Safello inked a deal to become Fragbite Group’s exclusive partner for managing its corporate Bitcoin treasury. Fragbite currently holds about 19.75 BTC and is aiming for an aggressive scale up to 100 BTC by December 2025.
Following the ‘crypto winter’ around 2022, blockchain-related sponsorships in esports became less common, but recent agreements plus investments made by industry giants like NIP Group and GameSquare raise questions about a possible resurgence.
