Lionheart School, a Local Authority Maintained Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) on the Isle of Wight, England, has opened a new esports and cyber-ready learning suite, developed in partnership with London-based firm Cyberlabs.
PRUs are specialist schools that provide education for children unable to attend mainstream schools.
The facility, designed for both curricular and extracurricular use, is equipped with seven UNEVN BASE PC desks fitted with Intel i5-14600KF processors, Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti graphics cards, 16GB DDR5 RAM and 1TB SSDs. Each station also features ASUS ROG Strix XG259CS 24.5-inch Fast IPS monitors, Asus peripherals, and X Rocker chairs.
Sam Cooke, Co-Founder at Cyberlabs, said: “On our first site visit to Lionheart School we were incredibly impressed by the facilities, and moreover that both Andrew [Hatherley, Headteacher of LionHeart School], and all of the faculty and staff were both incredibly welcoming and clearly dedicated to upholding the school’s values. We’re delighted to have built out this space for them for the students to enjoy and benefit from.”
Cyberlabs collaborated with partners including UNEVN and education specialists Fraser Esports to deliver the project. The company, which also operates the Gaming Box at Charlton Athletic F.C.’s stadium, specialises in digital entertainment installations across education, sport, community, and leisure venues.
Formerly known as the Island Learning Centre, Lionheart School describes itself as a nurturing environment focused on providing safe and supportive education for its students.
