PGL has announced updates to its Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) calendar, with changes to the PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 schedule and revisions to a previously stated invitation rule for 2026.
The organiser confirmed on X that PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 will now end on Saturday, 1 November, instead of Sunday, 2 November. The change means the event will finish two days before IEM Chengdu 2025 (3–9 November), another major tournament on the Counter-Strike circuit. The tight scheduling between the two events had already drawn attention, with PGL CEO Silviu Stroie previously raising concerns over the calendar.

PGL also revisited a rule initially announced for Cluj-Napoca 2026. The rule stated that a team could be denied a direct VRS invite if it had accepted but failed to attend a prior PGL event. PGL has now confirmed the rule will only apply to Cluj-Napoca 2026 and not to any other tournaments.
“At PGL, we are strong supporters of transparency, the strict application of rules, and a fair ecosystem,” the company said in its statement.
The update follows earlier disputes between PGL and other organisers, including ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) and BLAST, over scheduling and tournament practices. Stroie had alleged that rival organisers sought to prevent teams from joining PGL events, though no evidence was provided. The Esports Radar contacted organisations of different sizes under anonymity, and none reported having experienced threats or bullying. BLAST, meanwhile, has stressed the importance of collaboration between tournament organisers, teams, players, and Valve.
