StarLadder has revealed that it will host the second Counter-Strike 2 Major (CS2 Major) of 2025 in Budapest, Hungary, confirming key event details including venues and dates.
Scheduled from November 24 to December 14, the StarLadder Budapest Major will be the second event to feature the expanded 32-team, four-stage format introduced earlier this year, and a $1,25m prize pool. All stages will be played in front of a live audience.
The first three stages will be held at the MTK Sportpark, a smaller venue with capacity for 2,000 spectators, from November 24 through December 7. The playoffs will then move to the MVM Dome, a 20,000-seat arena that will use its full capacity thanks to a 360-degree stage layout, running from December 11-14.
Tickets are already on sale via Ticketfairy, with pricing ranging from €10 to €30 for earlier stages, and from €80 to €370 for the playoff series.
“Hosting another Major is an incredible honor, and we’re determined to make it unforgettable,” said StarLadder CEO Roman Romantsov. “Budapest gives us the perfect stage to push the boundaries of what a live CS2 event can look and feel like. From day one to the Grand Finals, we’re building something that fans – both in the arena and watching around the world – will remember.”
This marks StarLadder’s return to Major hosting duties after a five-year absence, with its last Major taking place in Berlin in 2019. StarLadder also confirmed it will host another event in Budapest from September 13-21 as a lead-in to the Major.
