Saudi Arabia-based esports organisation Team Falcons has appointed Aws Bani Baker as its new Esports Director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Bani Baker is not new to Team Falcons. He has been with the organisation for four years and five months, most recently serving as MENA Esports General Manager, a role he held from June 2022 until May 2026, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Before joining Team Falcons, Bani Baker worked at NASR Esports in Dubai for just over two years, where he served as Head of FPS Games from January 2021 to June 2022 and, before that, as Head Coach for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive from April 2020 to June 2022. Earlier still, he worked part-time as a lecturer at Jordan University of Science and Technology between March and June 2020.
A position titled Esports Director for a particular region typically involves overseeing an organisation’s local competitive teams and operations, including decisions on which games and leagues to compete in, managing budgets for rosters and travel, coordinating with coaches and team managers, and representing the organisation in dealings with tournament organisers, sponsors, and game publishers active in that market. However, since Bani Baker has not confirmed these specifics himself, the above is a general description of what the title commonly entails rather than a list of his confirmed duties.
Alongside changes at the regional level, Team Falcons has also seen developments in the leadership of its global esports operations. In June 2025, Grant Rousseau, the organisation’s Global Director of Esports and Operations, announced on social media that he would step down following the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, joining Ninjas in Pyjamas as COO of the esports division shortly after that. A few months after Rousseau’s announcement, Team Falcons appointed Jordan Savelli as its new Global Director of Esports in December 2025 to lead the team’s operations.
