Fighting game circuit Evolution Championship Series (Evo) has unveiled the official title lineup and event architecture for its inaugural South American edition, Evo Brazil 2027.

Scheduled to take place from 26 to 28 March 2027 at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, the event features a guaranteed minimum prize pool of R$1m (~$187,000) distributed across its official competition titles, marking a major milestone in the brand’s international expansion strategy.

The tournament lineup comprises eight major titles: Street Fighter 6, TEKKEN 8, Mortal Kombat 1, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear -Strive-, THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, and MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

Competitor registrations and ticket sales officially opened on 27 October 2026. In addition to open-bracket main stage competitions, the festival will feature an Evo Museum, Artist Alley, Cosplay showcases, official brand retail zones, and fan-operated Bring Your Own Community (BYOC) tournament areas.

Highlighting São Paulo’s historic arcade culture and legacy community events such as Versus: Evo South America in 2008 and 2009, Evo General Manager Rick Thiher stated that establishing a flagship tournament in Brazil honours the country’s deep-rooted Fighting Game Community (FGC): “Bringing Evo to São Paulo will be an opportunity to honour this legacy, highlight the incredible passion of Brazilian players and fans, and invite the global fighting game community to take part in the next chapter of Evo’s history. We are thrilled to bring the world together in a city that understands what makes these games so extraordinary,” stated Thiher in a press release.

The Brazilian event represents a pillar of Evo’s multi-territory global expansion under parent company RTS, which is rolling out new international stops across Mexico, Singapore, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and China alongside established annual events in the US, Japan, and France.

Evo’s operational rollout across Latin America is led by Head of LATAM Rafael Queiroz, former General Manager of Team Liquid Brazil, who joined the organisation to structure regional growth and build sustainable local FGC pathways. The São Paulo event will be supported by global partners including financial technology giant Visa, following its multi-year global sponsorship deal with Evo, and PlayStation Tournaments, establishing the commercial backing for the circuit’s South American debut.
