An official operational update to the ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Annual Club Incentive (ACI) has confirmed that Team Spirit has entirely forfeited its eligibility for the 2026 prize pool allocation.
Released on 1 June 2026, following the conclusion of IEM Atlanta, the regulatory update penalises the organisation for exceeding the maximum allowed number of tournament absences. The roster’s decision to skip the American event marked their third tournament decline across the 2025–2026 cycle, triggering a strict clause within the circuit’s overarching Ecosystem Agreement.

Prior to skipping IEM Atlanta, Team Spirit was tied for first place in the global ACI standings following their performance at IEM Rio, holding a projected financial share of $420,550. Because the organisation previously declined invitations to both IEM Melbourne and IEM Dallas in 2025, the Atlanta absence officially activated the Ecosystem Agreement’s penalty framework.
“If the Team exceeds the allowed number of tournament declines permitted under Clause 4(a) of this agreement, the Team shall forfeit its Annual Club Incentive for the calendar year in which the declines occurred. To the extent that the points accumulated prior to such date are enough to award the Team a share of the Annual Club Incentive, then such amount shall not be reabsorbed into the Annual Club Incentive and so will not be distributed to any other Teams otherwise.”
As a result of this rule enforcement, Team Spirit’s projected $420,550 share has been completely deducted from the overall ACI distribution calculations rather than being redistributed to competing clubs. The team is barred from earning or receiving ACI rewards for the remainder of the 2026 season, though they will regain eligibility in 2027.

IEM Atlanta served as the fourth event of the year contributing to the ACI ecosystem, distributing 108 of the 720 total points available across the 2026 calendar.
