Twitch has confirmed that the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025‘s sponsorship by gambling platform Rollbit does not violate its terms of service, following community concerns about the partnership. The clarification outlines the specific restrictions for the official broadcast and co-streamers for the upcoming Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament.
According to a statement from Twitch to publication Dexerto, the sponsorship is permitted because Rollbit’s presence will be limited to physical branding, such as on-stage signage. The platform’s rules prohibit streamers from directly promoting prohibited gambling sites like Rollbit through links, affiliate codes, or on-stream banners. Crucially, Twitch also stated that “verbally referring to the website on stream” is not allowed.
A source confirmed to The Esports Radar that StarLadder will follow Twitch’s rules. “none of their sponsorship placements will directly appear on this platform,” the source stated, adding that the company doesn’t “have exceptions as Tournament Organizer” while Twitch “also doesn’t have any exceptions over other restricted brands.”

The source also confirmed the Budapest Major broadcast would be freely available on all major platforms and not exclusive to any one service.
The controversy arose because Rollbit is listed among gambling sites, such as Stake and Duelbits, prohibited on Twitch. This led to questions within the CS2 community about how the official broadcast and co-streams would be affected without risking a community guidelines strike.
Regarding community streaming, the source explained that licensed co-streamers, who receive a program feed without delay, are required to deliver the event’s full sponsorship inventory. Those who prefer not to follow these requirements can use the open community broadcasting option via GOTV, which includes a standard three-minute delay.
