Esports organisation Isurus and payment technology company Visa have renewed their alliance until 2026, covering Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico. The partnership focuses on engaging younger gamers in Latin America.
Launched in 2024, the collaboration aims to gain visibility in the region’s gaming and esports ecosystem through projects and competitions. A key project is the Visa Valkyria league, designed for female players across Latin America. In 2025, the league will hold its first interregional in-person final in Mexico City, featuring two of the top League of Legends teams in the region.
In a publication at Mexican news outlet Tecnoempresa, Facundo “Kala” Calabró, CEO and Co-Founder of Isurus, said the first year of collaboration with Visa led to several initiatives and encouraged the continuation of new projects. Andrés Mociulsky, Marketing Director for Gaming at Visa Latin America and the Caribbean, highlighted the need for “fast and secure payment solutions” as an argument to connect with the gaming community.
Visa’s study “How to Conquer Generation Z in Social Media, Video Games and Payments” indicates that eight out of ten young people in the region identify as gamers, with 72% preferring video games as their main form of entertainment. Beyond Latin America, Isurus has recently announced a hub in the U.S., aiming to “blend gaming with culture, entertainment and business” in Miami, Florida.
