Chinese esports organisation Weibo Gaming has expanded into Rainbow Six Siege esports.

Alongside unveiling its roster, it has also secured a partnership with the game’s developer Ubisoft resulting in it becoming an Affiliate Team for the Asia Division of the regional Asia Pacific League.

Unveiled on March 8th, 2025, the roster consists of players who have previously represented Singaporean esports organisation Bleed Esports. In late 2024, the organisation was removed from the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) after failing to comply with requirements that form part of the league’s Team Participation Agreement (TPA). In addition, Bleed Esports came under fire due to allegations of the organisation failing to pay its players.

Weibo Gaming’s roster consists of one Chinese player, three from Singapore, and one from Australia. British Rainbow Six coach Matthew ‘meepeY’ Sharples will act as the head coach for the organisation.

At the time of writing, the team has yet to play any matches but is one of three confirmed teams for the 2025 Asia Pacific League season thanks to its Affiliate membership. The APL begins in June and runs until mid-July. In addition to Weibo Gaming, FURY and Elevate are the other teams confirmed for the competition.

For many, Weibo Gaming is known for its presence within League of Legends esports. Its team often places highly in the LPL and placed second and third at the World Championship in 2023 and 2024.

2025 has been a year of expansion for the organisation. In addition to Rainbow Six Siege, it has also signed Street Fighter player Saul Leonardo ‘MenaRD’ Mena II. The two-time Capcom Cup champion debuted for Weibo Gaming at Capcom Cup 11, placing in the top 16.

Weibo Gaming isn’t the only organisation that has recently expanded into Rainbow Six. Following the conclusion of the Six Invitational, Saudi Arabian organisation Team Falcons acquired the event runners-up, cementing its position as one of the best teams in the world ahead of the Esports World Cup and the start of the 2025/26 season.
