Japanese esports team SCARZ, best known for its VALORANT and Apex Legends rosters, has entered into a partnership agreement with J Front Prime Space Co., Ltd., the team’s operator, XENOZ Co., Ltd., announced.

J. Front Prime Space is a Tokyo-based firm that deals with physical spaces. It designs and builds interiors for shopping centers, offices and hotels, and it also manages those buildings once they are in use.

The main theme of the agreement is “eSports x Recruitment”. In practical terms, the two companies intend to use esports as a channel for communicating with young job seekers, including Gen Z. The company believes that esports tends to attract a young audience, which makes it a possible way to reach people who may not follow traditional recruitment advertising.

The companies said they will introduce new hiring initiatives step by step. These measures are described as going beyond conventional frameworks, meaning approaches that differ from standard methods such as job fairs or printed and online job listings.

For instance, both the organisations could organise an esports tournament where young people participate in gaming competitions while also learning about job opportunities. During the event, companies could introduce their businesses, explain available positions, and connect interested participants with recruiters.

The announcement, however, did not include the financial value of the agreement, the length of the contract or the specific content of the planned initiatives. It also did not say when the first measures will start or whether they will take the form of events, online content, team activities or something else. Typically, partnerships of this kind involve a sponsor supporting a team in exchange for joint activities, but the terms here have not been made public. Further information is expected to be released as the initiatives are announced one at a time.
